A very pleasant man collected us from Kuta and took us to meet up... read more with Erlinda at the markets. Erlinda’s obvious respect shown by stall owners and her knowledge of products was amazing.
Once we arrived at her ‘kitchen’ we were served a delicious morning tea then the fun began. The ladies who were helping were always ready for a laugh and an explanation of ‘what, how and when’.
Photo time was hilarious with our team of 4 and Erlinda’s team. Then the food we cooked was beautifully presented to us for lunch with a well earned cold drink.
This was followed by a trip to Tanah Lot. Our day was capped off when we arrived there and who should pop up on a motor bike next to us but one of our awesome MEXX chefs.

  Amazing Vegan-Friendly Balinese Cooking Class in a Beautiful Setting  - Our cooking class with Erlinda was an incredible experience and one of the highlights of our first trip to Bali! From pick-up to drop-off, everything was so well organised and... read more smoothly run — we could just relax and fully enjoy the day.

Erlinda, who guided us throughout, was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Balinese cuisine. We learnt so much about local ingredients and cooking techniques, and it was amazing how simple (yet delicious) the dishes were — we can’t wait to try them again at home!

We cooked a wide variety of vegan dishes, and every single one was absolutely delicious — you could tell a lot of thought had gone into the vegan menu, matching the care given to the meat dishes. Breakfast was also a lovely touch, with traditional snacks, tea, and coffee to start the day.

After cooking, we got to enjoy our feast on a beautiful second-storey balcony overlooking a lush, peaceful landscape — it was the perfect setting. Despite the huge amount of food, my partner and I managed to polish it all off!

Highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Changgu, Bali — it was a truly memorable and special experience.

After being picked up from our Villa, we were taken on a tour of the local market... read more before arriving at Erlinda’s home, the location of the cooking class. Overlooking the beautiful views of the neighbouring rice terraces and a peek of the ocean, we were treated to some sweet Indonesian breakfast items all made in their local village, with tea and coffee.
Once we had enough energy, we went downstairs to the kitchen where Erlinda showed us a variety of herbs and spices before we started cooking. Assisted by some lovely local ladies, we learnt 13 recipes which we were given to take home in the form of a recipe book.
I would recommend this class to any foodies visiting Bali! (They have Vegan and Vegetarian options too!)

  MEXX cookery class with friends  - We were collected and taken to a market to learn about the local ingredients. We then went to the cookery school. It was amazing and the ladies that took through... read more a series of recipes were patient and informative. We were in 2s and a 3 (7 of us). We cooked several local dishes and learned of lot of new things about food. The ladies were so kind. We then got to eat our food, that was presented wonderfully with a Bintang what an amazing experience and amazing people ❤️ thank you and definitely one of the best things that I have ever done x
